About The Role 

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead and manage process design, implementation, and optimization projects and Lean implementations: determining and specifying the most effective methods, processes, and equipment needed to manufacture and assemble products.  

 

What You'll Do 

  • Review, monitor, develop, modify, and maintain manufacturing processes and their control systems to maximize efficiency and quality.  

  • Design data collection plans, lead and manage experiments, analyze data, and implement improvements to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to maximize efficiency and quality. 

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency. 

  • Manage process databases and provide timely and routine feedback to those responsible for the performance.  

  • Define and publish simple and clear manufacturing assembly instructions describing precisely how Assemblers are to build and integrate products. 

  • Implement ergonomic improvements for manual assembly.  

  • Develop tooling or fixtures for new products and assembly processes. 

  • Manage capital projects to support asset effectiveness and production needs.  

 

What You bring 

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. 

  • 8+ years of related experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.  

  • 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring a team. 

  • Experience with ERP/MRP/MES systems. 

  • Ability to define and manage the development of manufacturing methods and processes, including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.  

  • Ability to implement and manage lean manufacturing techniques and manufacturing quality tools.  

  • Ability to conduct, manage and lead time study efforts.  

  • Ability to implement Statistical Process Control techniques. 

  • Familiarity with simulation packages  

  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills as well as attention to detail.  

  • Advanced management skills, including planning and organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and project management. 

  • Problem-solving proficiency (e.g., Pareto, failure mode analysis, etc.)
