JOB SUMMARY
To support the Store Manager and Manager In Training in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising store personnel to achieve store and personal sales goals, control expenses, and protect company assets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Exceed store and personal sales goals and performance standards
- Assist in recruiting and hiring high caliber employees
- Support training and development of sales team
- Provide feedback, coaching, and enforcement of company policies
- Ensure proper implementation of company initiatives
- Recognize and develop talented staff
- Supervise daily store operations and loss prevention practices in absence of Store Manager
- Communicate store needs effectively
- Resolve customer issues
- Provide a fun, full service experience to customers
- Complete bank deposits
- Demonstrate the Journeys culture to the team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prior retail management or sales experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment
- Willingness to learn and work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends
- Physical ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and be at least 18 years of age
