The Department of Medicine, Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seek a Gastroenterologist to work in their Abdominal Transplant Program at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and directing the medical aspects of our growing intestinal failure/intestinal transplantation and ex vivo abdominal surgery program. He/she will also participate in GI coverage for our transplant programs and will be a part of the Center for Liver Disease and Abdominal Transplantation.
She/he will be working with the intestinal transplant team, developing the adult program, and expanding referrals. They will also work in a limited capacity as a member of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the teaching activities of the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, Abdominal Organ Transplantation and the Department of Medicine. This may include attending on our ward or subspecialty service, medical student teaching/precepting and/or supervising and mentoring housestaff and fellows. In addition to clinical and teaching responsibilities, a clinical or translational research program is expected.
Qualifications
Minimum Degree: MD, MD/PhD degree or equivalent and eligible to practice in the State of New York.
Minimum Qualifications: Board certified/board eligible Gastroenterologist
Preferred: Transplant Hepatology training/experience is desired but not required
