As an SEL Application Engineer, you will be the product expert! Your expertise will be utilized training and teaching our customers how our products are applied in utility and industrial applications. We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer to be a leader in protection in our Trinity or Orlando Florida branches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop expertise in power systems protection, control, and metering and all related SEL products.
2. Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses, email, and telephone contact.
3. Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software, and literature.
4. Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
5. Teach in customer on-site and online visits, SEL University courses, and hands-on seminars for customers and SEL personnel.
6. Maintain customer application and quality information, and develop industry relationships.
7. Publish application guides, notes, template guides, software tools, and/or technical conference papers.
8. Model, teach and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World-Class Manufacturing principles.
9. Understand. Create. Simplify.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience
5+ years' experience in power systems, industry practices, and protection
Strong technical training, speaking, writing, and customer service skills
Ability to direct daily work activities with limited supervision
Ability to write and speak English coherently
Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others easily
Inspires, motivates, and encourages others
Models high standards of honesty and integrity
Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 35%
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications
M.S. in Electrical Engineering or advanced application experience in power system protection and control
Published application guides and technical paper at industry conference or in journal
Experience using SEL products
